PS - Hike: Garstin Trail

Description: Hike this steep trail for the great views of south Palm Springs to the rock pile (pictured) at Cahuilla Peak, where the scenic views increase to include the entire city. Then toss your own  rock on the pile as we relax at the top before the downhill hike. 

  • Trail Length: 3,2 miles out and back
  • Total Elevation Gain: 995 feet
  • Terrain: Established trail
  • Difficulty Rating: Moderate

Meeting Place: Garstin Trailhead on Barona Rd. Traveling East on Bogert Trail Road cross the bridge and take the 1st left turn onto Barona Rd.

The trailhead is at the end of this cul de sac.

Bring Ten Essentials (click here), water (1 to 2 liters recommended), trail snacks. Sun protection and layered clothing are recommended. Carry Emergency Contact Information (ICE). Hiking poles may be helpful.

Sturdy hiking footwear with good tread and adequate drinking water are required.
