2022 Speaker Series

Join us to hear the first speaker in our Great Outdoors Palm Springs Speaker Series for 2022!  We are presenting topics of interest to GOPS members exploring the Environment, the Flora and Fauna of the Coachella Valley and the surrounding Mountains. The series will be held online using Zoom meetings for a while, due to COVID issues, but plan to return to live presentations in the future.

We are pleased to have for our April Speaker Jane Garrison, Founder and President of the Oswit Land Trust. The Oswit Land Trust saves and preserves land and ecosystems from impending destruction. Jane will talk about the Mesquite Desert Preserve, a proposed botanical garden/desert preserve created by the conversion of golf courses in the heart of Palm Springs. She will also discuss other activities on which the Trust is focusing.

This talk will be held on Thursday April 21 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. The presentation will be held online using Zoom. The Zoom meeting login information will be sent  in the confirmation and reminder emails. Join us by registering for this talk!

• Download the ZOOM APP click here, once downloaded, follow the prompts.
• To join the meeting, click on the hyperlink provided by the host. The Meeting ID & Password will also be shown.
• Follow the prompts to open and join the meeting. You will be asked for permission to use your camera, microphone and audio:  Be sure to approve all requests.
• Mute and Chat are two controls at the bottom of the screen you can use.
• Name option – hover over yourself and select rename.
