(Carpooling is recommended due to limited parking - will organize closer to the event)
Cost: We are asking each person attending bring $5 cash for donation to our Docent and Shrine.
Estimated time: 2 hours
We will gather as a group and will enjoy a docent-led walk through the Center grounds and Shrine taking in the beauty and background of the grounds.
Lake Shrine is part of Self-Realization Fellowship founded by Paramahansa Yogananda. Dedicated in 1950, he envisioned a spiritual environment where people from all over the world could come and experience peace of heart and mind. Today, Lake Shrine offers a lakeside Meditation Garden with shrines and waterfalls, a hilltop Temple, The Lotus Shrine, views of the Houseboat and windmill on the Lake and see the sarcophagus holding the sacred ashes of Mahatma Gandhi.
