The Rembrandts

Let's get this out of the way first: The Rembrandts—the pop-rock duo of multi-instrumentalists and songwriters Phil Solem and Danny Wilde—co-wrote the effervescent Friends theme song, "I'll Be There For You." That song, with its inimitable handclaps and jangly guitar riffs, spent 11 weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart, climbed several charts around the world, and continues to find new audiences thanks to Friends reruns.

However, for Solem and Wilde, that song is just one small chapter in a friendship and creative relationship spanning four decades, two bands, four studio albums, two greatest hits records, a handful of U.S. radio hits, and two U.S. Top 40 singles. Anyone familiar with the Rembrandts only from "I'll Be There For You" should know that the band has a rich catalog brimming with smart, well-wrought pop gems.

"Our m.o. is to only put out things that have a timeless kind of quality to it, that isn’t going to be time-stamped in some era," Solem says. "And, so far, our records have done pretty well with that."

Reverend Doctor

Reverend Doctor is an uplifting and defiantly positive soul pop act which aims to connect people and build community through music that moves your mind and your feet.

A musical project created by Keith Rollins, a Black American award-winning singer-songwriter born in the heartland of the United States, Reverend (to preach) Doctor (to heal) is about carrying a message of love and celebration as far and wide as their voice may reach.

Rooted in the likes of Marvin Gaye, Ed Sheehan and Leon Bridges - Reverent Doctor's relentlessly optimistic music tells inspirational stories from their own life and crates community wherever their music is heard.  Their story is everyone's story:  victory, loss, struggle, but marked by the decision to encourage others on a musical escapade across the world.

Traveling the country with nothing but their guitar and trusty looper pedal, The Good Doctor's show is small but mighty.  They now borrow from their blues roots of the bayou, funk that healed the world, along with R&B, pop, and rock - It results in an upbeat sound that will make you dance, or simply bring a smile to your face.

Gates will open @ 5 PM

for guests to enjoy the food trucks and concessions and to save a spot on the grass for the concert.  All concerts are from 5 to 8 PM (event starts at 5 PM, live music begins anytime after 5:30 PM), free and open to the public of all ages. Bring your happiness and enjoy live music under the stars with OC Parks along with your Great Outdoors family.

This event is great to attend as a group.  If you register I will let you know where we will be sitting and manage to save a space or two.  Even better if you can arrive early we can converge at a location within the park before officially being let into the concert space.
