Crystal Cove 10 mile mile hike.

Rated Difficult:  1,433 feet elevation gain.

Start time 7:30am. We'll meet at the Pacific Ridge Trailhead right next to Coastal Peak Park. You can get directions by entering the address for the park: 20403 E. Coastal Peak, Newport Beach, CA 92657. The trailhead is at the corner of Ridge Park Rd and E. Coastal Peak (click here for a map).

Please join us for this beautify 10 mile loop trail near Newport Coast, which is one of my favorite hikes on Orange County. This is considered a challenging route and will take about 4 hrs 30 min to complete. We will want to get an early start because this spot is very popular on the weekends and parking can be difficult. The trail is in the full sun - however it offers beautiful views of the coast line.

Please arrive by 7:15 and we will start the hike at 7:30.

The first half of the hike is down hill as we descend from the peak towards the coast. For the second half we will loop around to a different trail and will have a large elevation gain.

We will start on Bommer Ridge trail and then take Moro Ridge trail down towards the coast line. Next we will take East Cut Across trail to Moro Canyon trail, then to El Moro Canyon trail were there are restrooms and a place to rest for a bit. Then we will head up the mountain by taking No Dogs trail to No Name Ridge, and finally to Pacific Ridge Trail which will lead us back to where we started.

Please bring plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen and a hat. Note the 10 essentials.

(In All Trails it's listed as "Pacific Ridge, Moro Canyon and Boomer Ridge Trail Loop). I cannot do lunch after as I have plans, however if others want to go to lunch that would be cool.
