LA - Just added! Hike Beaudry Loop in the Verdugo Mountains

Join us for a beautiful workout hike this Sunday (weather looks great!), to enjoy huge views, fresh air, and green hills after our recent rains. This hike will reward us with 360-degree views - if clear skies, we may see La Crescenta, Glendale, the San Gabriel Mountains, snowy Mt. Baldy, Griffith Park, Downtown Los Angeles, the Palos Verdes peninsula, Santiago Peak in Orange County, the Pacific Ocean and even Catalina Island!

Distance/Time: 5.9 mile loop. Estimate 4 - 4.5 hour trip, including a leisurely lunch break.

We'll hike the first uphill half (nearly 3 miles and 1500' elevation gain) with breaks, then enjoy our lunches at the top.  Then return downhill the other side of the loop.

Difficulty: Intermediate.  3-3.5 hours of hiking with incline.

Bring:

• The 10 essentials, lunch, snacks, ample water.
• Shade is scarce! Wear a wide brimmed hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, proper clothes, footwear.
• Optional: Hiking poles, something to sit on for lunch (a magazine should suffice on the concrete wall or dirt)

• Plenty of street parking in the residential neighborhood. Please respect the neighbors.
• Look for our hiking group at the trailhead.
• Recreate with respect! Bring a small trash bag.
