This is a challenging 8+ mile hike to Murray Hill, the landmark south of Palm Springs and nearly midway between the Cathedral Cove and Andreas Hills residential areas. Our hike will start and end at the Garstin Trailhead on Barona Road just south of Bogert Trail. From Garstin Trail, we shift to the Wild-Horse Trail and then the connector trail to Murray Hill. Snacks or lunch at the top. Then we will descend the steep north side into the arroyos then work our way back up to the Garstin Trail, completing the loop. But there is more vertical: up and down the Garstin to our vehicles.

Please be a good shape for this hike. It is tough under a casual pace, and we’ll aim for a brisker than normal pace. And when on Murray Hill, you will want to quickly stabilize your recovery breathing to concentrate on the incredible views.  This is a strenuous hike for experienced hikers only.
