Registration is closed

We'll start at the South trailhead for the Ernie Maxwell and see views of the surrounding mountains up and back.  This is a popular area for hiking so we'll likely encounter other people up and down the trail.  It is suggested we take only two cars (4 hikers in each car) due to limited parking on the side of the dirt roadway at the trailhead.

  • Trailhead at about 6400 ft elevation.
  • 4.6-miles total out-and-back trail.
  • Moderately challenging due to 800 ft incline in first 2.3 miles; Return on same trail so all downslope back to trailhead.
  • Takes about 2.5 hours at a leisurely pace.
  • Mostly tree shaded.
