Little Tuscany to Palm Springs Art Museum / North Lykken Trail and Museum Trail With Jacuzzi Option
NOTE: Before registering, Please read this entire event announcement.
This promises to be a varied and enjoyable “in town” experience. It’s a moderate to strenuous hike for experienced hikers with a close-up view of Palm Springs that keeps on giving its entire length. As a warm-up, we’ll start in Little Tuscany at the meeting point with a short and gradual uphill walk on streets to the North End trail head of the North Lykken Trail. For trailhead location, click here. NOTE: This is not the meeting location.
After a steep but short climb, we descend to a relatively flat section below the ridge line overlooking Las Palmas Dam and the neighborhoods of Vista Las Palmas and Old Las Palmas. Then it’s a gradual climb, positioning us directly above the O’Donnell Golf Club. From there, we’ll make a longer and much steeper climb for lunch at the picnic tables at the end of the Museum Trail. The last section of the hike will be the steep descent to the Art Museum. We should finish the hike around 1:15 p.m. After a quick shuttle back to our meeting point, we’ll finish back at the meeting point with a well-deserved jacuzzi soak and pool time at the hike leaders’ housing complex.
